Sometimes it takes just a little imagination and empathy to transform a business into something more.

This is what Tanya Gordon, MNLP, MTLT, TCHt has done and now evolving the real estate sector in Durham Region, Ontario.

Evolving a seemingly ordinary sector such as real estate, into something deeper was no mean feat.

  “I started to want to EMPOWER my approach when I understand that buying a home in Durham region meant something more than a business transaction”                

Tanya began her career in real estate in January 2010. She attended many courses in sales and hired coaches, but the more courses and coaches the more she understood that it was not enough. It was during her personal and professional growth an idea developed which was to totally change her career.

Being a Real Estate Agent, Real Estate Mentor, Certified Master Neuro-Linguistic Programming Master Practitioner and Master Coach means the relationship that develops between the client and myself is very different, the whole process is different and fortunately, both are very effective. It is also interesting at the human level. I always learn something from each client.

So Tanya had the idea to combine the skills of a Certified Master Practitioner of NLP (neurological processes (neuro-), language (linguistic) and behavioural patterns learned through experience (programming) with the expertise of a real estate agent: a professional figure that considers closely the needs and goals of their client and helps them to integrate them into the community life in Durham Region.

But what does this mean in practice?

Not only is the negotiation skill level higher, but It is also about listening, taking my time, and working out the reasons why you want to move here. I have to go back to the basics and consider why and what you want to change in your life, only starting from that point can you clearly see the opportunities each properly brings and really consider what is being offered.

Then there are techniques and steps in dealing with and choosing the property which is the best part for the client, but we always start with the primary motivation.

I am an active Real Estate Agent for residential properties with the largest independent brokerages in Canada: Right At Home. With over 5000 members, I am just one of forty-four Mentors endorsed by RAH, where I share my knowledge and wisdom gained over a decade of extensive real estate and coaching experience.

What do all of those letters after my name mean?

It means I’ve been searching for the most effective, most efficient means of personal growth and self-development, and along the way, I happened to have earned certifications and designations to show that I know the academic part of all this. What my clients know, is that I’ve also lived my learning, which is what you only experience when you meet me.

For those of you who are interested in my academic background, here is the breakdown.


I am a Licensed Realtor®, Internationally Registered, Certified Master Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner and Coach (MNLP) and an Internationally Certified Hypnotherapist (TCHt) who has been practicing client-centred psychotherapy since 2019. My formal background includes Real Estate Sales Representative,  Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner, and Educational Assistant. To maintain all of my professional designations, I continuously attend training workshops and seminars, read, and seek professional consultation to further enhance my skills to serve my clients. When you work with me you are receiving the benefit of all my learning and experience in psychotherapy, NLP coaching, and hypnotherapy in a way that is customized to your needs. Truly a gift worth giving to yourself.
